Dell to reenter MP3 player market

August 1, 2008

Making downloads of your favorite music is one thing, but you’ll need a nifty gadget to store those files. I don’t know if anyone still remembers Dell actually producing MP3 players but the company is now reentering the market once again.

The company is currently testing a new player that could be made available as early as this September. Dell’s player will feature a small navi-screen and basic controls that will be used in scrolling through playlists. It can also connect to WiFi network and will be priced at less than $100.

Dell has entered the mp3 player market once before, in 2003. But that initial foray was a huge flop for the company.
