Out Of the Garage

August 4, 2006

Did you ever dream of becoming a singer or drummer or just plain loved to play your guitar? Were you ever part of a band in high school? If you were you’ll probably say that you spent a lot of time in the garage. Nope, not fixing cars, the garage was your rehearsal studio.

Lucky for the current generation, their music no longer has to stay in the garage unheard. Independent music is alive and well on the internet. Thanks to the internet and GarageBand.com you can listen to a lot of unknown artists and discover music that you will absolutely enjoy.

GarageBand.com hosts music from many aspiring singers and bands. They put up their music to be heard and the listeners decide if a star has been born. Listening is absolutely free. If you like what you hear, you may want to get a copy of the music. If the band decides to, you can download their MP3 for free and if you want more, you can even buy their CD.

The nice part is you discover some great music like the music of Geoff Byrd, Drowning Pool and 10 Years. The bad part you may sometimes need to wade through a lot of average ones before you get to the really good ones. The great part you may just help discover the next stars. Here’s the good news: if you become a member and do the reviews, you can earn enough credit to get your favorite CD’s from GarageBand.com free.
