Sometimes you stumble on a nugget of pure gold on the net and it just has to be shared with everyone. One such a gem of a site is nugs.net.
At first it looked to be like just anothermusic site and not much to get excited about but every music site deserves to be browsed and given a test run just in case something good is hidden in its depths. True enough, this site contained treasure.
There’s music here from Bruce Hornsby, The Dave Matthews Band, The Grateful Dead and even Metallica, just to name a few. There are shows from BB King’s Blues Club and other great clubs. There’s a whole gamut of choice of artists available for download each of them excellent. The music genres vary from Blues to Jazz to Bluegrass and even pop.
The music is coming direct from the artists and from several premium music channels. They have free music for everyone to listen to which are arranged by artist in their music stash. Anyone can listen to a single song or enjoy the whole show. The quality of sound is excellent! It can feel like you were in the audience when the show was recorded.
If you choose to listen to a whole show and are using Internet Explorer, you’ll automatically be given the Nugster. This is an activeX control that nugs.net uses as its download manager. It only works with IE.
As always, the option to download is available on the commercial section of the site. One of the coolest things about the music here, quite a number of the albums up for sale are for the benefit of rebuilding of New Orleans. As we all know, New Orleans has been home to some of the greatest venues of music and their artists. It is a heritage we must not lose.
Nugs.net recommends downloading WinAmp for windows or iTunes for Mac in order to best enjoy the music.
