Mobile music is the topic of the day. Sony Ericsson has announced that they are about to take the next step in their “comprehensive mobile music strategy”. In a few short weeks, users of their mobile units will be able to download not only ringtones but full length songs from some up and coming performers. Contentent available for download will also include the artist’s biographies, gig schedules and videos. So far these artists include: Kish Mauve, Embassy, Dirty Perfect, FKLV, Iggy, The Head Set, Bobby Kray, Anjulie, Lights and Monte *Rosa.

Where can Sony Ericsson users download from? They can access these through PlayNow service or through their upcoming website m-buzz.com. The website will be up and running by October 2 based on announcements on site.

Do note though that not all models may be able to utilize the service fully. In fact the compatible models, the W850 and W950 Walkman phones are still much awaited in the market. They are slated for release sometime before the end of the year.

It is great that the mobile market has finally been given music content meant for them. It is also wonderful that Sony ATV Music Publishing and Sony Ericsson is providing some new material for the listener’s ears and helping new talent on their way to stardom. Who knows, this may just be the next Motown revolution though it does feel a bit like American Idol or Rockstar meets mobile.

We just have to wait and see what these artists are like. So, lovers of fresh music get ready for some new acts. You’ll be able to download their material really soon.
