Candy for the Ears

August 8, 2006

There is something special about the blues. Everybody can relate to it no matter what your favorite genre is. Its appeal is universal.

This is what Audiocandy believes. So they’ve put together DJ’s, with a total of about 20 years experience between them, to do what they love best. They play some blues, rick and roll and as well as some acoustic, Celtic and Irish music to delight your ears.

Audiocandy’s radio stations are free for everyone to listen to. Though they do ask you to sign up first. After you sign up, you get access to their multichannel broadband stereo and you don’t need to download any software to enjoy their radio stations since they work with windows media player or with winamp which most of us already have. They also have the option for you to use their AACplus multichannel tuner which is already preset to their stations.

You can choose from the 11 stations that are currently available. Big Blue Radio is where you go to hear classic Rock, Blus and Americana starting from 1998. Green Mist Radio offers Celtic, Irish, Americana and World Folk. Ear on the underground focuses on cross genere independent music while Size Blue 42 Radio plays over 80 years of the best blues. There are still other stations to choose from.

As you listen you can vote for the song, send a message to audiocandy about the song, or download the music, posters or other available items. Audiocandy really tried to keep it simple.

Best of all as far as I’m concerned, you can make a request and actually get your chosen song added to the playlist. Just note though that they do allow you to make a request only two every 120 minutes (2 hours) and up to a maximum of 6 a day so that more listener requests can be accomodated.
