We7

One of the rising stars in the music download business which offers free digital music for download. It’s free and legal which is the upcoming trend with respect for music downloads. The revolution comes with the inclusion of advertising along with the music or video you download that allows the download site to pay artists a small fee as royalty for their work. This might be the best option for it stands between two sides of music lovers and artists who both want music to be shared and enjoyed. On the other hand, these same artists need a source of income for their work in order to further their art while allowing their fans to enjoy and play their music without the mumbo-jumbo of major record labels.

The idea is novel and the ads might be annoying, but hey, you get free music anyway. For those who don’t like the ad, then you’d have to pay up for your picks. Are you an artist who needs cash and publicity to get you going, become a member and get you music tested by their people to see if they are worth any cash and who knows the heights you’d be able to reach if your music gets enjoyed all over. Their so-called ‘Tasters/Reviewers’ sample music from artists and give ratings or recommendations to other users who in turn end up downloading your work and you get the cash flowing into your pocket for each and every download your work gets (just like all the other artists). We7, the place to be in the next couple of months when it comes to music downloads. Download your tracks onto your mobile devices (which will also show or play the ads that come with the downloads, by the way) and take your picks with you anywhere you go. So be sure to check them out for your free music and video at We7.com for more details.

MTV…..Still alive and kicking….Barely

Written by Nick on November 13, 2007

mtv_logo.jpgEver since the TV program hit the screens it became an institute on it’s own and developed it’s own culture. MTV, the television program could be seen in anywhere there was a teenager waiting for the latest fashion, music and of course, the music video that record companies spent a lot of money on in the making. They grew and grew towards the sky till, the internet came. The internet took more of the waiting sitting in front of the television set waiting for the particular MTV you were dying to see. You just searched and got what you wanted on your browser wherever you might be.

Most sites now have dedicated areas for videos, music and more all at the touch of a button or should we say keyboard. Today, MTV has shifted to a more realistic approach to the music entertainment business and has gotten onto the Reality TV show bandwagon. This has kept some appeal with the masses and gave them the much needed boost to allow them to remain in the game. Check out the site for the many stuff they have to offer along with the many downloads and free stuff. You could also get the latest news regarding the music celeb’s everybody loves. But you could watch the E! Channel on your television or just check out your local news service(who is sure to have an entertainment section/page for sure) which can be more up to date.

In fairness to MTV, they have had a generation of two who loved and benefited from the sub-culture they created. People who wanted to know how their famous music idols looked like and wanted do the same, they stayed faithful to the show. But the internet became a cheaper and faster way of spreading the news, music and mtv’s. For media giants, maintaining just one site rather than have to worry about broadcasting the show and all the other legal problems that they had to deal with in the process. Check out the site for some great stuff and other freebies you could download.

How Fast Should Downloads Be?

Written by Nick on July 27, 2007

The rate of transfer from a site towards the workstation of any person would depend on the size and the bandwidth offered by a server towards all people who may connect to a site. Distance is another aspect for consideration since with regard to places where people access certain sites, the gateway that they use will be a contributing factor towards access and the actual transfer rates.

Download Speed Limits

Files for transfer can range from pictures, music files and applications. The size would depend a lot on the entire package with music and video files being the larger sized files a person may consider to download. But for people, speed is equivalent to time that they spend logging on to the web hence the importance of bandwidth connected to time spent. However overall, the important thing is the downloaded items are transferred completely since disruption may render the whole file corrupt and useless.

Being First To Download for Prestige

Written by Nick on March 19, 2007

Bragging Rights

Aggressive searches for unique files like ringtones, wallpapers, screen savers and other applications for use in portable media like cellular phones and palm tops is one of the common activities that people look for on the web. One has to think, why do people want to look for them? The answer lies in the area of prestige and of course bragging rights since it has been common to see that people who are the first to own such things will always be considered unique.

This practice has been the common thing that people see. People always want to be the first. While creations are rare, especially if people are looking for free ones, people can always search selected sites or communities for the unique files not available in their regions.

Hence it all boils down to how people would religiously dedicate their time in looking for rare files before they become common and rampant for people to have them.

Written by Nick on March 7, 2007

People looking for latest or desired software for use will immediately go towards the known sites where such files would be present. Tucows and Cnet Downloads.com are two of the safest and leading download sites available today. They house the latest and best products ranging from audio, video, security, and utility programs among others, which people would require today.

Ipod Downloads

Most of these programs would be on a shareware or trial basis. This would depend on the number of uses of a certain product while some provide an immediate 30 day allowance before checking and requiring trial users to purchase the actual program software.

This is believed to be good ample time for anyone who would download and try out the program if their downloads were able to satisfy what they are looking for or perhaps a need to look for other software programs that are available at these download sites.

How Often Do You Download on the Internet?

Written by Nick on February 23, 2007

The rate at which people would download music or files from the web cannot be immediately measured. For all we know, people may practice a daily habit of downloading several items on the web, considering that there are millions of files that they can get by simple log on to the World Wide Web.

Downloading Practice

Music files, ring tones, photo images and applications are among the type of downloadable items that people would regularly check out. The level of satisfaction for files accumulated from such downloads cannot be counted since people will surely have a hard time determining the best item there is for their personal use.

Also, tons of people have been leaning towards the web for such files and if the number of people using the web would be considered, one download per individual is highly exaggerated practice today. Simultaneous downloads are sure to be among the daily activities that Internet savvy people would have once their workstations are online.

Would You Trust Morpheus?

Written by Nick on February 21, 2007

Among the early birds in the peer to peer sharing of files era would account Morpheus among others. Music, applications, videos, you name it. Just do a random search for anything of your liking and you will find plenty of people and sources to which you can download them.

Morpheus File Sharing

But with every free service comes a risk. One is that of viruses or Trojans invading your workstation. Sure, they will always tell you that the software is virus free, but how about the actual files you get? Especially if they are compressed and zipped, there is no telling what hidden files may be included in the process.

The of course there are the legal implications for violations of copyrights. Sharing of files may be okay, but licensed applications would usually be limited towards the actual purchaser of the product. But once any product or application has been distributed, control and tracing of such distribution may be a widespread recipe of including people who do not know what they are really doing.

How to Convert Sound Formats for your Cellular Phone

Written by Nick on February 13, 2007

The different file formats for sound files that most people would have to convert for them to be able to playback musical tunes has been one of the most sought after searches in the Internet today. The usual format would be that of a wav file which may not be suitable for some mobile phones. The usual files format would be in mp3, ogg and amr format. The difference lies in the compression of the file to be able to accommodate the capacity restrictions allocated for advanced mobile phones.

Ringtones

The introduction of such innovations can be attributed to the fact that most phones today have been given such features to provide further enjoyment. While ring tones and message alerts in the advanced levels of enhancing alerts for most phones, the sound quality has become one of the alluring factors considering that even recent hit tunes can be used as standard alert tones for incoming calls and text messages.
