iMovies?

They created the iPod. They reinforced the legal music download market with iTunes and made music easily accessible and less expensive at the same time. They have added TV shows to their list of available content making the couch potatoes in us very happy. Now it looks like they are all set to bring movies into your favorite portable companion.

There have been a number of companies attempting to make movie downloading legal and as easy as getting music now is. The biggest difficulty has been from the movie companies themselves. There has been great resistance to the concept.

It seems like Apple Computer Inc. is making headway though. It helps that they have such a strong connection with Disney through Pixar. Hopefully, the ongoing talks between Apple and these movie moguls turns out well otherwise Apple will launch their newest offering with a very limited selection.

When will we know for sure? Well, Apple sent out invites tagged “It’s Showtime” to the media for a gathering on Tuesday, September 12 in San Francisco. The media gathering also coincides with the Apple Expo’s opening in Paris. Expect that your current iPod model will become obsolete after that folks. Scuttlebutt has it that the next batch comes with an even better widescreen.

Admittedly, the experience of watching on a small screen won’t be as thrilling as watching on a big screen but for some that won’t matter. It does make for great entertainment though when you have to kill time, no matter where you are.

My Space – Sell Your Own Music

Written by Ginny on September 2, 2006

Music is a part of us all. It is the harmony of our lives. For some of us, it is a call that must be answered, created, expressed and shared. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough recording companies to go aroud. That leaves a whole slew of independent artists with great music out there but no company to back them up.

Nowadays, that really can’t stop you from getting your music out though and creating your very own fan base. All you need to do is share your music through the internet. With the millions all over the world that go online, your music will get heard.

MySpace.com is a good place to help you build your fans and now, make money from your music as well. Currently, MySpace users can upload up to four songs at a time on their site but their fans can only listen to the music, not download it. Right now they and their friends sign up, visit your site and just keep coming back to hear your music.

Very soon, thanks to the partnership between MySpace.com and Snocap, Inc. your listeners will be able to purchase your music directly from you. You will now begin to earn from your music and not just get exposure.

You don’t need to wait to be signed up to a recording contract. No need to join any reality TV shows. You just need to do what you love – make great music and get it up on your MySpace. You may even be the next web music star.
